Our Story
Verdi Academy of Dance was founded in 2004 by Veronica Edwards with a dream of creating a place where students could receive exceptional dance training while feeling encouraged, supported, and valued.
What began as a small studio has grown into a family tradition. Today, Veronica teaches alongside her daughter, Elisa Orta, continuing the same passion and commitment that have guided Verdi Academy from the very beginning.
Over the years, our studio family has grown to include a team of talented teachers who share our dedication to quality dance education. Many of our instructors began their own dance journeys right here at Verdi Academy and have returned to share their experience, passion, and love of dance with the next generation. Our administrative team also has deep roots in our studio, including former instructors who now support the behind-the-scenes operations that help our dancers and families thrive.
We believe dance is about so much more than learning steps. It teaches dedication, resilience, confidence, and respect. It celebrates hard work, encourages creativity, and reminds students that growth comes gradually, not instantly.
Our classes are rooted in quality instruction and a genuine love for teaching. Whether a child is taking their very first ballet class, preparing for Royal Academy of Dance examinations, or simply dancing because they love it, every student is welcomed with the same care and encouragement.
For more than twenty years, Verdi Academy has been honored to watch generations of dancers grow not only into stronger artists but into confident, compassionate young people. We are proud to be part of each student's journey and look forward to inspiring many more for years to come.
Our Mission
At Verdi Academy of Dance, our mission is to provide exceptional dance education in a welcoming and encouraging environment where every student has the opportunity to grow.
We are committed to nurturing technical excellence, artistic expression, confidence, and character through thoughtful instruction and meaningful mentorship. Our goal is to inspire a lifelong love of dance while helping students develop the discipline, resilience, and self confidence that will serve them both in the studio and beyond.
